Quite different and attractive, this agave has few leaves and they are fleshy and soft, with a pale green colour, reminiscent of Agave attenuata. It is also a showy and prolific bloomer. It does not take so many years to bloom and it quicly sets pups to start again a new cycle. The name "pendula" reflers to the pendant habit of growing on sheer cliffs in Veracruz, México.
