Chamaedorea microspadix, is a cold hardy "bamboo palm" with spreading slender stems, up to 2 m tall, holding leaves with beautifully wide segments. This attractive small palm thrives in low light and can be also grown indoor.
It is resistant to light frosts, cool temperatures and to a bit of neglect. It grows well in higher latitudes, far from the tropics. In habitat it grows in moist forests at mid elevations, often on limestone and sometimes in seasonally dry areas of NE Mexico, in Hidalgo and San Luis Potosi.
