Crinum buphanoides

Magnificent Crinum from South Africa, with wide, jade-green, wavy leaves. It is fully deciduous in winter, as it grows in winter-dry, summer-rainfall areas which become very wet during the hot months. (Actually it grows better if you place a plate with water under the pot.).Its specific name, buphanoides, speaks about its resemblance with the genus Boophone, which only includes two large and elegant species (B. disticha and B. haemanthoides).This bulb is now about four years old, sown from seeds in 2020.
