Manche können mit nur sehr wenig Licht auskommen udn manche andere könnten etwas Sonne durch ein Fenster vertragen. Palmen, Bromelien, Cordylines und Aspidistras sollte niemals austrocknen. Andererseits benötigen Sansevierien, Hoyas und Rhipsalien weniger Wasser und können sogar Dürre vertragen.
