If you like exotic plants, you just came to the right place. Canarius offers the hard-to-find exotic plants which are seldom available in garden centres. Our shop has natural species as well as rare hybrids. We offer exotic plants from the Canary Islands.

World deserts and dry areas are home to the most interesting plants. Canarius offers an increasing selection of succulent plants of maximum quality, because they are grown outdoors, under the full sun of the Canary Islands.
Succulents or "fat plants" are water-retaining species, adapted to dry conditions. They store succum (juice, water) in their leaves, stems or roots, and often show a stout and fleshy appearance.
Exotic plants are species from other parts of the world, and they usually have ornamental qualities: a lush foliage, colorful flowers, unusual shapes... Here you can find a great variety of exotic plants: from Bromeliads and Heliconias, to pamls and houseplants.
Exotic plants do not have a particular use. Collectors buy this kind of plants for their rarity, for indoor or outdoor decoration, depending on their features.

Blue flax-lily or blueberry is a perennial ornamental from Eastern Australia and Tasmania, with glossy green blade-like leaves to 70 cm long. Blue flowers are produced in spring and summer and purple berries are kept througout autumn. It is hardy to drought, snow and frost, to at least -7 C.
This Dianella makes a glossy groundcover or tuft for the rockery, It bears blue flowers and super-blue fruits. Dianella ensifolia is very easy to grow, from full sun to deep shade.
Stable variegated clone with white stripes. This dianella looks good in any conditions and it is always great in the garden or in individual pots.
This Dieffenbachia is a true species, not a hybrid, but it is still one of the most beautiful of all. Those simple dark green leaves with a white central stripe can't be more elegant. It is also one of the hardiest and most adaptable.
South African beauty with evergreen leaves and showy Iris-like flowers, profusely produced in Spring and Summer.
Very beautiful perennial with white flowers. The leaves are wide and elegant, reminiscent of some Phormium tenax. it is a gigantic species of Dietes originating from the remote island of Lord Howe, which is also home of the Kentia palm.
Thai cultivar of Longan seldom offered in the trade. It has good taste, good fruit size, good production... Despite its almost hilarious name for english-spreakers !
Grafted tree. Haew is a large fruited selection of longan, an excellent sweet fruit related to lychee. This late-ripening cultivar is good for non-tropical climates.
Grafted Tree. This is a very good longan from Northern Thailand, with crispy texture. A mid-season, very sweet, cultivar for non-tropical climates. The foliage is very ornamental and it makes an excellent garden tree.
2 years old, 20-30 cm tall. This Dioon is elegant and different, with a stout trunk and glowing blue arching leaves with "V"arranged leaflets. It was described in 2003 and it is also frost hardy. Seeds are hard to find and awfully expensive, but we got a few for our nursery.

Trunk: 15 cm in diameter, as in the picture. Here we offer a larger specimen of the Mexican cycad Dioon edule.
5 years. 40-70 cm tall. 5-6 cm base. Large grey-leaved cycad native to high elevation pine-oak forests in Mexico. Trunks can reach 6 m. Leaves are stiff, long and flat, densely woolly during development. Easy to grow, with moderate frost hardiness
3-4 years old. 30 cm tall. 3-4 cm base. Blue green leaves come up straight from the top of the stem, perfectly spaced, at odd-angles. This endangered cycad is a "micro-endemic", known only from the Tomellin Canyon in Oaxaca, Mexico, at 1,000 to 1,500 m asl.
