Androlepis skinneri

Androlepis skinneri is a majestic large bromeliad with fabulous colours. During the blooming months, the whole plant turns pink and a fuzzy white spike grows up to 70 cm tall.

A. skinneri is the only species in the genus Androlepis and it is high esteemed by collectors. It does not like when it is too hot or too cold, because it is native to the mid-elevations in Central America, where temperatures basically stay between 7 and 27 C.
