Arenga pinnata is an economically significant feather palm native to tropical Asia, ranging from eastern India to Malaysia, Indonesia, and the Philippines in the east.

The immature fruits are widely eaten in the Philippines and Indonesia.

This medium-sized palm can grow up to 20 meters tall, with its trunk remaining covered by rough old leaf bases
