This fragrant "copal" is a shrub to small tree, native to different dry areas of Mexico. It is quite ornamental with cute glossy leaves and white thick stems. Bursera fagaroides becomes a perfect bonsai subject if we keep it in pots and it builds a crown with a fascinating shape. It is easy to grow and sheds its leaves in the colder, drier months.


Our plants were sown in 2017 so in 2024 they are now 7 years old from seed... much, much larger than in the pictures.
