Turmeric is a basic spice in Asian cuisine, used as a food dye in the whole world. A bit of turmeric added to any dish will prevent arthrosis and many other health problems. It belongs to the ginger family and grows as an underground rhizome, with leaves in the warmer months.According to Kew, "Turmeric is sterile (does not produce seed, but it does grow vigorously from the rhizomes). It is thought to have arisen by selection and vegetative propagation of a hybrid between wild turmeric (Curcuma aromatica), native to India, Sri Lanka and the eastern Himalayas, and some other closely related species.". We offer a good stout rhizome, potted or not, with or without foliage, depending on the season.
