Cycas x 'Rev Form' (C.revoluta x C.debaoensis F2)

This is a second generation (F2) cross of Cycas debaoensis and C. revoluta. This means that all our seedlings are not an exact mix of the two species as it was in the first generation F1. In the F2 seed batch, the genes segregated so now we have some individuals that look more like one species and some look more like the other. In this case we offer a Rev Form, and that is a nice young plant, about 3 years old from seed, which is like a Cycas revoluta ("Rev") but it is a hybrid because it has non-glossy leaves and the occasionally bipinnate leaflet. Both species are rather hardy to light short frost, especially Cycas revoluta, so these hybrids are hopefully tolerant to frost too.
