Short cotton shrub, with flowers which open white and turn pink at the end of their life. "Upland cotton" is a perennial shrub, often grown as an annual, attaining about 1 m in height. It has been in cultivation for at least 5.500 years, in America. Our plants are from old heirloom strains and tend to be perennial. Flowers are similar to hibiscus flowers, followed by ornamental capsules with cotton inside.
