Hippeastrum nelsonii

Evergreen bulb from Bolivia with remarkable green-cream flowers with bright red tips.  Leaves are pale, thick often glaucous. Hippeastrum nelsonii flowers display a colour pattern similar to its relative H. mandonii, but petals are spreading, so flowers are more attractive to many people.

It is a vulnerable species discovered in 1969, known from three locations at about 750 m asl, by River Tumo, in Caupolican, departament of La Paz. %MCEPASTEBIN%
