Rough green avocado variety from vigorous, cold-tolerant trees. Avocado is a subtropical tree native to Central and South America, which name is derived from the Aztec word ahuacatl. The fruit rips after picked and has a delicate buttery and nutty flavour. The flesh is pale yellow-green and has a smooth texture. Avocados have a relatively high fat content (monounsaturated oil). Available all year-round. Could be eaten fresh or used for guacamole, salads, soups, desserts and as garnish. Persea cv "Fuerte" is pear shaped and green. Its medium weight varies from 100-400 g (0,4-0,9 lb) and its size is 10-12,5 cm (4-5 ") long and 6-8 cm (2,5-3 ") wide. The oil content is 18-22%. The skin is slightly rough, thin and green, and can be easily peal from the flesh. It has a vigorous spreading habit showing alternate bearing characteristics and good cold tolerance to more-than-light frosts.
