Small climbing Philodendron, with glossy leaves, with blades 9-25 cm wide, often showing a shape of perfect hearts, held on rather long internodes. This species will grow well on a totem or creeping on a basket.

It is only found in Costa Rica, where it is locally common in the lowlands of the Pacific side, in very wet forests, from sea level to 500 m, always growing as an epiphyte, usually at 2,5-5 m above ground.
