Nice-looking mesemb with gray warty leaves. It forms very cute low clumps or carpets and blooms profusely with yellow flowers that open in the late afternoon and are scented through the night. In cultivation it is not seasonal and can be watered at any time. This species is perfect as a ground-cover companion plant for bonsai succulents or caudiciform plants. Stomatium species come from inland So. Africa and they are hardy to frost. They will stand -10 C or much less if kept in drained conditions, like in rockeries, clay pots or so.
