I Cicadee sono un gruppo di piante primitive, simili nella forma a palme e felci. Sono gimnosperme, nell'ordine Cycadales, in modo da non producono fiori, ma fanno crescere coni, come pini ed altre conifere. Si trovano in gran parte delle regioni calde del mondo e sono spesso in pericolo e confinati in zone inaccessibili. Alcuni crescono in zone montane fredde e tollerano gelo e neve.
La maggioranza delle specie Cycad si sviluppano bene in giardino e fanno ottimi piante in vaso. Alcuni sono diventati popolari come piante ornamentali, mentre altri sono molti rari e sono protetti dalla legge come specie CITES. I nostri cicadee sono stabiliti piante di sementi, di due o più anni, allevate in vaso di altezza. Tutti gli impianti sono legalmente prodotte. Edentata is one of the most beautiful of the coastal Asian cycads. Leaves are glossy, with golden prominent veins. Leaf bases and young stems are coated with a reddish-golden "fur". It is quite fast and easy to grow and just as hardy as the typical rumphii-circinalis.
