Le plumerie sono famose per le loro splendidi fiori e sono disponibili in una vasta gamma di colori, come il bianco, giallo e rosa, come si può vedere nella foto. Tutti producono un meraviglioso profumo.

Le plumerie sono facili da coltivare, indipendentemente dalla regione in cui vivete. Sono piccoli alberi, alti 2-10 m, ma cresceranno e fioriranno in vasi relativamente piccoli per decenni. Muoiono con il gelo ma in autunno perdono le foglie e riposano fino alla fine di aprile, quindi sono facili da svernare in casa.
