Succulent shrub native to the Sonoran desert, down to Baja California. Pedilanthus macrocarpus branches from the base and flowers abuntantly with red "cyathia". Its stems will stand straight upright when grown in full sun and will arch gracefully if kept with some shade. It is used as an ornamental plant outdoors in mediterranean to dry subtropical areas, as it will make a nice garden shrub and will keep a low stature of about 1 m . This Pedilanthus is hardy to extreme conditions and will take light, short frosts.
