Miniature shrub from South Africa with a swollen base. It is a winter grower, but T. bucholzianus is the only species in its genus that can grow new branches without leaves. It also produces succulent, linear leaves at anytime while the weather is cool and wet, usually late in Spring. It tolerates some shade as in nature it is often found under taller shrubs or on cliffs with little winter sun. Keep dry during full summer heat.
