Opuntia ficus-indica cv. Red Spineless

It is not truly spineless, but it has very few spines. It is a large, robust selection with red juicy fruits of good quality.  This red variety of the well-known prickly pear cactus bears large, colourful edible fruits. 

Just like the typical Opuntia ficus-indica, this red fruited selection is a drought resistant cactus-shrub from Mexico, hardy to about -7 C (20 F). It can be grown in large pots and will produce fruits.

We ship one robust cutting: a pad of 20-30 cm, sometimes rooted, sometimes not rooted. In any case, it is very easy to root in pots or in the ground. Give it full sun and a well draining soil.
