Pritchardia minor

This is the smallest of all Pritchardia species and it is quite hard to find in cultivation. It is native to the island of Kauai, at 500-1300 m elevation, so it is able to grow in cool conditions. Frost will damage it but it can resist a few degrees below zero ... if necessary! It is slow to grow but it is surely worth the wait, it can take a century to reach its maximum height of 10 m.
