This is one of the most beautiful aspidistras we grow. Leaves have a beautiful texture, with tiny elegant ribs, and a lot of well defined spots... sorry "Dots"... these are bright white but their outer edge is yellow and then dark green, so they stand out a lot. "Totally Dotty" is a selected clone, collected in the wild in 1996 in Taiwan, by Bleddwyn and Sue Wynn-Jones, who gave it the accession code BSWJ3236. It was a particulaly brightly spotted plant, located in the forest overlooking the South Cross Highway, in southern Taiwan. The species has purple cup-shaped flowers and is highly variable, reaching up to 1 m in height but in our conditions it stays much lower. It is said to resist to about -8C and it should be kept away by freezing winds..
