Large-sized ornamental Crinum with wide leaves, rather flat but with undulate margins.The white flowers are huge as usual, in the species, with rather thin and drooping petals. It is naturally found in seashores or sandy places near river banks in Fujian, Guangdong, Guangxi, Taiwan and Hong Kong. It is widely cultivated in Southern China as an ornamental and is used medicinally, despite being toxic as a whole. This Chinese variety of Crinum asiaticum was formerly called Crinum sinicum, because it was considered an individual species.
