Eremurus robustus is showy in all its parts, both for its size and beauty. It produces an abundant rosette of wide dark green leaves. The inflorescence is very tall and ornamental, 2 to 3 m tall, and it blooms in spring - usually in May or june. If planted in a rich drained soil the bulb will soon reach the size of your head (!) It is native to semi-desert areas of Central Asia and adjusts well to European climates, and does well from the UK to the southern Mediterranean. When planted, the crown should show above the surface of the soil and should never be mulched over. We offer a huge bulb which is not yet adult, but it could well flower in the next season if you give it good conditions.
