This ornamental South African bulb is one of the most widespread bulbs in its country, spanning more than 2000 km. It is often called the blood lily for its red paintbrush-like flowers. This batch was originally collected in Lamberts Bay, which is a small coastal town located a bit north of Cape Town, in the Winter rainfall area. These bulbs are now about four-five years old, sown from seeds in late 2019.
