This is one of the most useful veggies to keep at hand. It It will thrive almost anywhere and will produce tasty and healthy food throughout the warmer months, with an exotic ornamental accent. Flowers are pink, with a purple throat, abundantly produced by well-fed plants. This tropical spinach flourishes in SE Asian countries where it is grown in wet to aquatic conditions. It is extremely versatile, so you can keep it in a simple shallow pot with holes and a saucer below or in a minipond with fish. It tolerates close-to-freezing temperatures but it will grow steadily only when weather gets warm. We offer rooted robust plants, but those shipped during the cooler months will often have small or yellowish leaves, because this is how they rest in winter.
