Nouveau
"New Generation" mango, recently released by dr. Singh in India. He developed Mallika by traditional methods, by crossing varieties 'Neelum' and Dasheri' and got a tree for family use and not for the industry. It is a small sized tree with regular production of extremely flavourful fibre-free sweet fruits. Different people recognize different aromas and some will taste melon, papaya, honey, flowers, figs or so.
Fruits of 'Mallika' mango are 450 g in average, long, a bit flat and easy to recognize because of their wide base. They are picked in green and ripen in yellow, with an orange vitamine-rich flesh inside.
Dr. Singh's team provided this cultivar has resistance to disesases and an excellent, regular production.
Here in Canarius we offer a grafted potted plant, grown in peatmoss or coconut fiber. The graft will have at least one flush of leaves hardened, but most probably two or three.
Visit this LINK and see pictures of our fruit trees on the packing desk and learn more about what we ship.
The rootstock used for grafting is a seedling of mango Gomera-1. This is commonly used as a rootstock throughout the Canary Islands, because of their ease of growth and root hardiness to cold wet winters and drought.
