The smallest species in the genus
Sabal and one of the cold-hardiest. It is native to deciduous forests in the SE U.S.A. This palm does not produce any aerial trunk, so its stays low througout its life, with round, green, fan leaves coming out of the ground, achieving a total height of 60-120 cm (24-48 ft). Mature plants produce long, upright inflorescences in Spring that rise above the leaves, followed by round black fruits in Summer.
The size of this plant is: h= 17-25 cm - Cont. 14-16 cm.
